Drive Far and Wide

If you like driving, you might possibly think about some sort of driving job as a permanent career. It has both its benefits and disadvantages but one thing is for sure, it is pretty varied; and the umbrella term of driving as a profession covers all sorts of jobs from driving buses and coaches to train driving, taxi driving and even lorry driving.

When you see the car transporter manufacturers, don't you just wonder who drives these monsters? Someone does and this is just another slant on driving as a career. You have to decide what sort of vehicle you would prefer to drive and train accordingly – many of the driving jobs involve some sort of heavy goods driving licence, which costs money but can be an excellent investment.

If you are looking to go into a job that involves passengers you will have to take an additional passenger licence to prove that you are capable of safely transporting people as well as goods.

This can be one of the most interesting driving jobs as you get to meet people as you drive them around; but not so good if you are more of a solitary type.

As a former coach-driver doing tours for tourists I can definitely say that this was one of the most interesting jobs, chatting to visitors from other countries and showing them around my home-town.
